Hi all readers! Are you looking for an explanation of “will Allah forgive me for Zina in Ramadan?”? If your answer is “Yes”, congratulations! Now you are reading the right article. Why? Because that is what I will explain in this article. As Muslims, we must understand that. That's why I wrote this article. So, you should read it to the end!
Specifically, there are three important things about “will Allah forgive me for Zina in Ramadan?” which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
Why Is Zina in Ramadan So Dangerous?
First important thing about “will Allah forgive me for Zina in Ramadan?” What I will explain now is "why is Zina in Ramadan so dangerous?". I want you to understand that first before you read more explanations in this article because it is one of the important questions related to the main discussion that must be well understood.
In Islam, Ramadan is one of the noble months. Muslims who do good deeds will get a double reward. Likewise, bad deeds. If they do bad things in Ramadan, they will get a double sin.
In Islam, Zina is one of the worst sins. One of the reasons is because Zina is a “certain thing” that only husband and wife can do. If a man and an unmarried woman do that, then they have both committed a very bad grave sin.
We can find an explanation that Zina is one of the worst major sins in the Quran below:
And do not approach Zina. Indeed, it is a very heinous act and a bad way. (Al-Isra 17:32).
Now, why is Zina in Ramadan so dangerous?
Zina in Ramadan is very dangerous because the person who commits it will get a double sin. The sin is multiplied because it is done in Ramadan, in the month that should be glorified.
We can find an explanation that Zina in Ramadan is very dangerous in the hadith below:
Allah's Messenger (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wasallam said, "Indeed, my ummah will not be insulted as long as they establish the month of Ramadan." The Companions asked: "O Messenger of Allah, what is their form of humiliation in wasting the month of Ramadan?" He replied, "Violations of things that are forbidden in the month of Ramadan, such as zina or drinking khamr. Allah and the angels cursed him until the following year. If he dies before the next month of Ramadan, then he has nothing good with Allah that can save him from Hell. Therefore, be careful of the month of Ramadan, because the reward of good as well as evil will be multiplied."
That's a brief explanation of "why is Zina in Ramadan so dangerous?". As Muslims, we must understand that.
Will Allah Forgive Me for Zina in Ramadan?
The second important thing about “will Allah forgive me for Zina in Ramadan?” what I'm going to explain now is a specific answer. So, I want you to read the explanation below very carefully.
In general, in Islam, if a person repents, then Allah will forgive all his sins. We can find this explanation in the following verses of the Quran and hadiths:
So, I said (to them, "Ask your Lord for forgiveness (reading Istighfar), verily He is the Most Forgiving (Nuh [71]; 10).
Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, and He forgives what is besides this to whom He pleases; and whoever associates anything with Allah, he indeed strays off into a remote error. (An-Nisa’ [04]; 116).
Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, and forgives what is besides that to whomsoever He pleases; and whoever associates anything with Allah, he devises indeed a great sin. (An-Nisa’ [04]; 48).
Then hasten on from the Place from which the people hasten on and ask the forgiveness of Allah; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (Al-Baqarah [02]; 199).
Know that Allah is severe in requiting (evil) and that Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. (Al-Maidah [05]: 98).
As for some of the hadiths that I mean are as follows:
Al-Baihaqi, al-Ashbahani, and Ibn Abi ad-Dunya narrated from Anas, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "There is no servant or people who ask forgiveness from Allah (reciting Istighfar) every day until seventy times, unless he will not be recorded as a liar. And whoever asks forgiveness from Allah (reciting Istighfar) every night up to seventy times, then he will not be recorded as someone who forgot."
At-Tirmidhi narrated from Anas, from the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. He said, "Allah Taala said; O son of Adam, if your sins have reached the side of the sky then you ask for my forgiveness (reading Istighfar), then I will forgive you."
Ahmad and al-Hakim reported, "Satan said, "For the sake of Your glory, I will always plunge Your servants into sin as long as their souls are still in their bodies." Allah Azza wa Jalla said, "For the sake of My glory and My majesty, I will always forgive them as long as they ask forgiveness from Me (reading Istighfar)."
