Hi all readers! Are you looking for an explanation of “does Hajj forgive Zina?”? If your answer is “Yes”, congratulations! Now you are reading the right article. Why? Because that is what I will explain in this article. As Muslims, we must understand that. That's why I wrote this article. So, you should read it to the end!
Specifically, there are three important points about “does Hajj forgive Zina?” which I will explain in this article. The three important things I mean are as follows:
What Is Hajj?
The first important thing about “does Hajj forgive Zina?” what I will explain now is “what is Hajj?”. I want you to understand that first before you read any further explanation in this article. Why? Because that is the first thing you have to understand if you want to understand the focus of our present discussion.
“Hajj” is an Arabic word. The writing is الحِجُّ. Literally, the meaning of the word "Hajj" is:
Go to something great.
The meaning of "Hajj" in Islam is as follows:
Going to a certain place at a certain time with the aim of performing the rituals of Hajj after Ihram.
What is meant by a certain place in the explanation of the meaning of Hajj in Islamic law is the Kaaba and Arafah. While what is meant by a certain time is in the months of Shawal, Dhul Qadah, and Dhul Hijjah.
In Hajj, there are several rituals that must be performed by Muslims, such as Tawaf, Sa'i, Wuquf, Ihram, and so on.
You can call male Muslims who have performed Hajj as “Hajj (الحَاجُّ)” and female Muslims who have performed Hajj as “Hajjah (الحَاجَّةُ)”.
The Virtues of Hajj
The second important thing about “does Hajj forgive Zina?” what I'm going to explain now is the virtues of Hajj. I want you to understand that so that you understand the premise of our current discussion.
In general, we can find explanations of the virtues of Hajj in several verses of the Quran and hadith. Of course, I'm not going to quote them all now. In this article, I will only quote two hadiths to explain the virtues of Hajj as it relates to our current discussion.
As for the two hadiths about the virtues of Hajj that I mean are as follows:
From Abu Hurairah radiyallahu anhu, that the Messenger of Allah (Prophet Muhammad) sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said, "One Umrah to another Umrah is an atonement for sins that are between the two. There is no other reward for Hajj Mabrur except only Heaven.” This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
From Ibn Abbas radliyallahu anhuma, he said, "There was a man doing wukuf at Arafat and fell from his animal vehicle so he was trampled on. (or he [Ibn Abbas] said), "So that person died instantly." The Prophet (Muhammad) sallallahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Bathe him with water mixed with Ziziphus leaves and the shroud on his body with two pieces of cloth and do not give perfume and do not put a headgear because he will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment in a state of doing Talbiyah." This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
That is a brief explanation of the two hadiths about the virtues of Hajj. As Muslims, we must understand that.
Does Hajj Forgive Zina?
The third important point about “does Hajj forgive Zina?” what I'm going to explain now is a specific answer. So, I hope you read what I'm about to write seriously so that you understand it.
All readers! If we have read and understood the two hadiths above, then we will be able to conclude several things as follows:
- Hajj is one of the most important acts of worship in Islam.
- The reward for those who perform Hajj Mabrur is Paradise.
- If a person dies while performing Hajj, then he will enter Paradise.
Now, if we understand the three conclusions above, then we can say that Hajj is one of the acts of worship to remove Zina. In other words, Hajj forgave Zina. That's the answer.
That's a brief explanation of "does Hajj forgive Zina?". Do you understand? If you want to ask, please ask.
I think that's enough for this article. Hope it is useful. Amen.
See you again in the next article.
