How to Bath After Sex in Islam? ~ Hi readers! Are you looking for a guide to bath after sex in Islam? If your answer is "Yes", then you are reading the right article. In this article, I will explain that. I will explain four important things about bathing after sex according to Islamic law.
There is one important thing I want to say before I explain more about our topic, that bathing after sex in Islam is called "Janabah Bath". According to Islam, a Muslim who has had sex has a great tradition that can only be purified by bathing. Of course, showering Janabah or bathing after sex should not be done carelessly. That's why I wrote this article so that you can understand it.
As for the four things about bath after sex in Islam I mean as follows:
Bath After Sex in Islam
Earlier, I explained that bathing after sex in Islam is called Janabah bath. The purpose of bathing after sex is to get rid of hadas besar. In Islam, hadas (big hadas and small hadas) are one of the things that prevent a Muslim from performing some of his obligations, such as praying. That's why hadas must be removed.
In Islamic teachings, great hadas can only be removed or purified by bathing. If a Muslim who has great hadas has taken a bath (taking Janabah bath or bathing after sex), then he may do some of the things he has to do in holy conditions, such as praying and reading the Quran. For this reason, the law of bathing after sex or the Janabah bath is obligatory for Muslims who have had sex. So one important thing to do after sex is taking a shower.
That is the general description of bathing after sex in Islam or Janabah bath. As Muslims, we must know that.
Hadith About Bath After Sex in Islam
Now I will explain the hadith about bath after sex or the Janabah bath. This is one of the most important discussions about bathing after sex. Why is that? The answer is because in the hadiths that I will explain there are many explanations about the obligation to take a bath after sex and guidelines for doing it.
But, before I explain many things about it, I will explain to you that there are many hadiths that explain bath after sex in Islam. Of course, I am not going to explain it all now. In this article, I will only quote three hadiths.
The First Hadith About Bathing After Sex
From Abu Hurairah radliyallaahu anhu, he said, "Allah's Messenger sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam has said, "Indeed, under every hair there is a janabah. Wash your hair and clean the skin!" The hadith is narrated by Abu Daud and at-Tirmidhi.
In general, if we observe the first hadith, then we will understand that the hadith describes the obligation to take a bath after sex. Apart from that, in brief, the hadith also describes how to do it. I will explain that in the last part of this article.
The Second Hadith About Bathing After Sex
From Ali ibn Abi Talib radliyallaahu anhu, "Allah's Messenger sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said, "Whoever has got the place of hair from janabah, then he will use this and like this in Hell."
In general, if we observe the second hadith, then we will understand that the hadith describes the bad consequences for people who do not shower after sex, that people who do not bathe after sex, or people who have great hadas will be tortured in Hell.
The Third Hadith About Bathing After Sex
From Aisha radliallahu anha, she said, "If the Messenger of Allah sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam bathes from the janaba, then he begins by washing his hands, then he takes precedence to wash his right hand from the left body then he washed his anus. Then he graduated. Then he took water and put his fingers into the base of the hair. Then he poured three hands of water three times. Then he drained water over all his bodies. Then he washed his hands. "The hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
In general, if we observe the third hadith, then we will understand that the hadith describes the guidelines for bathing after sex in Islam as was done by the Prophet Muhammad.
Dua for Bath After Sex in Islam
Dua for bathing after sex in Islam is one of the important things that should not be forgotten. In Islamic legal literature, dua is understood as "Niyyah". That is what distinguishes a Janabah bath (showering after sex) to get rid of big hadas and a regular bath.
In general, in the dua for bathing after sex (bathing Janabah) there should be a niyyah explanation for doing so, and that the aim is to remove the great hadas due to sex. A Muslim going to do a Janabah bath must be aware that it is an obligation that must be done because of Allah Taala, not because of anything else.
One example of prayer for bathing after sex in Islam is as follows:
I intend to take a bath to get rid of the big hadas, as an obligation, because of Allah Taala.
Guide to Bath After Sex in Islam
Now I will explain the guide to bathing after sex in Islam. In general, we can do that according to what has been explained in the third hadith. But, specifically, as explained in Islamic literature, there are some important things that a Muslim who is going to take a shower after sex should do:
- He must make sure that the water to be used for bathing is holy water that can purify the body.
- She has to say a dua for a bath after sex.
- He must drain the water over all the skin on his body, from the head to the soles of the feet, to be touched by the water. The water must flow into all the pores of the skin on the body.
