Prayer before sex in Islam ~ Hi all readers! Sex is a normal activity for married couples. That is the only way to have children. In Islamic teachings, there are many explanations about it. One of them is prayer before doing that.
Yup! Before a husband and wife have sex, they are encouraged to pray. The goal is that if they both have it because of the sex, then their child will get God's protection. Satan will not be able to disturb him.
By the way, what is prayer before sex?
Okay! I will quote one hadith to explain the prayer before sex. Pay attention!
Hadith About Prayer Before Sex
The hadith about prayer before sex that I mean is as follows:
رَوَى ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُوْلُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : لَوْ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ أَهْلَهُ قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا , فَإِنَّهُ إِنْ يُقَدَّرَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَلَدٌ فِيْ ذَلِكَ لَمْ يَضُرُّهُ الشَّيْطَانُ أَبَدًا . مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ
From Ibn Abbas radliyallaahu 'anhuma, he said, "The Messenger of Allah sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam said, "If one of you came to his family, then he prayed, "O Allah, keep us from Satan and keep Satan from what you have given to us," if they both had the will because of the relationship (sex), then Satan would not be able to endanger him (the child) forever." The hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim.
All Readers! The above hadith explains about prayer before sex and the kindness that will be obtained by a child born if his parents say the prayer. Already know what the prayer is? This;
اللَّهُمَّ جَنِّبْنَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَجَنِّبِ الشَّيْطَانَ مَا رَزَقْتَنَا
O Allah, keep us from Satan and keep Satan from what you have given to us.
The above hadith is in accordance with Qur'anic verse which tells of Mary's mother;
فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتۡهَا قَالَتۡ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَضَعۡتُهَآ أُنثَىٰ وَٱللَّهُ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتۡ وَلَيۡسَ ٱلذَّكَرُ كَٱلۡأُنثَىٰۖ وَإِنِّي سَمَّيۡتُهَا مَرۡيَمَ وَإِنِّيٓ أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ ٱلرَّجِيمِ ٣٦
So, when she brought forth, she said: My Lord! Surely, I have brought it forth a female-- and Allah knew best what she brought forth-- and the male is not like the female, and I have named it Marium, and I commend her and her offspring into Thy protection from the accursed Shaitan. (Ali ‘Imran [3]; 36).
Actually, the prayer in the above hadith is not the only prayer before sex. Imam al-Ghazali advised couples to pray before sex. But before they both recite the prayer, they are encouraged to read the surah Basmalah (بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَانِ الرَّحِيْمِ), takbir (اللهُ أَكْبَرُ), takbir (اللهُ أَكْبَرُ), tahlil (لَا إِلَهَ إِلّا اللهُ), following prayer;
بِاسْمِ اللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيْمِ اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنْ كُنْتَ قَدَّرْتَ وَلَدًا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ صُلْبِيْ
In the name of Allah, the Highest and Most Glorious, O Allah, make (sperm) a good progeny, if You create a child who comes out of my coccyx.
