From Anas (رضي الله عنه), he said:

"According to the Sunnah, if a man who already has a wife marries a virgin, he should stay with his new wife for seven days before dividing his time among his other wives. If he marries a widow, he should stay with his new wife for three days before sharing his time with his other wives."
